Titleist GTS drivers‘ popularity seems to grow by the week on the PGA Tour, and now the hottest driver in golf has its first PGA Tour victory.

J.T. Poston’s victory at the Memorial came with the new GTS3 driver, which was released on the PGA Tour in March at the Houston Open and became available to the public in mid-May.

Poston added the driver at the Valero Texas Open, the second week it was available for Tour pros, and has kept it in the bag since the Truist Championship last month.

Over the past three months, the GTS line has quickly established itself as one of the most played drivers on the PGA Tour with more than 70 players putting it in the bag and at least 65 now gaming one.

At the Memorial, 18 players in the 72-man field played a GTS driver, which was more than any other brand’s total driver count (16). Poston’s win also came in the same week that world No. 3 Cameron Young added GTS3 and World. 4 and gear free agent Matt Fitzpatrick added GTS2.

Poston’s GTS3 is set up in the stock hosel figuration, A1, and the neutral forward CG track position, but the GTS platform allows numerous changes to CG through the dual weighting system. Titleist was able to move Cameron Young out of his 11-degree GT3 head and into a 10-degree GTS3 head because they could move the CG back by adding weight to the rear. The GT3 did not have that option.

While Poston’s victory was the first for the GTS drivers, it continues a huge run for Titleist as nine winners since March 9 have played a Titleist driver. All but one of those were the GT3 until Poston’s victory for GTS3.

This week the PGA Tour heads north of the border for the 2026 RBC Canadian Open at TPC Toronto, and two European Ryder Cup stars lead the betting favorites. Here is everything you need to know about the RBC Canadian Open odds and other betting favorites to start the week.

RBC Canadian Open betting favorites

Next week, the best players in the world will head to the third major of the year, the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills. But first, some of the top PGA Tour pros will battle it out in Canada’s national championship.

European Ryder Cupper Matt Fitzpatrick is one of the betting favorites at the RBC Canadian Open, coming into the week with +1200 odds-to-win.

After years of struggles on the course, Fitzpatrick has reclaimed his elite game this season, reeling off three PGA Tour wins already to push his career total to five. He’s risen to No. 4 in the Official World Golf Ranking in the process.

Fitzpatrick isn’t alone on top of the odds list. He’s joined by a fellow European Ryder Cupper who is also ranked in the top 10 of the OWGR: Tommy Fleetwood.

Trailing them in oddsmakers’ eyes are two U.S. Ryder Cup players, Sam Burns (+1400) and Collin Morikawa (+2200). Filling out the top 5 in pre-tournament betting odds are Robert MacIntyre (+2500) and Wyndham Clark (+2500).

In response, Nicklaus said his Muirfield Village welcomes all. Long hitters. Medium hitters. Short hitters.

But not everybody can wear the crown.

“I tried to design it so we could take care of everybody and try to give a fair shake to every kind of player,” Nicklaus said. “And when you get that, you can’t just stand up and just whack away at it on every hole.

“I tried that in my early years. I didn’t do very well. So it’s a golf course that takes a little bit of patience and learning.”

Patience and learning? J.T. Poston, your newest Memorial winner, can tell you all about that.

Entering the week, he hadn’t won. Or top 10’d. Or top 25’d. He said often, he’d play “63 really good holes” — but PGA Tour tournaments, of course, require nine more. Thursday, he shot a 70 during the first round — then fired a seven-under 65 during Friday’s second round, when most everyone else was all over the place. On Sunday, he led by an advantageous four strokes entering the final round.

Then he slowly tumbled. He bogeyed 3 on a three-putt. He bogeyed 9 on another three-putt. His lead was one. He bogeyed the par-3 12th after missing the green to the left with his tee shot. He was tied for the lead. He bogeyed the 13th after missing the green with his approach shot. He was out of the lead.

Patience and learning, though, right?

He birdied 14 on an 18-foot putt. He birdied 15. On the 16th hole, Poston, Ryan Gerard, Sam Burns, Wyndham Clark and Tommy Fleetwood were all tied for the lead. Gerard then led after a 36-foot birdie bomb on 17, until Poston caught him on 18 with another birdie. On that one, he stuffed an iron to 7 feet, dropped the putt and fist-pumped.

First playoff hole. Pars.

Second playoff hole. Gerard three-putted. Poston took two and won. Afterward, as is the custom, he shook Jack Nicklaus’ hand.

He’d proved him right, too.

The takeaway

Whew. Poston wins a marathon — and avoids one. By winning, he secures a U.S. Open spot — and avoids having to play in Monday’s Final Qualifying, a 36-hole event.

Recognition in the grocery store.

Earlier this week, Aaron Rai shared that. Last month, he won the PGA Championship, and a reporter wondered if he was being noticed more now.

“It was more — I went to the supermarket on, I think, Tuesday evening, and I wasn’t even in golf clothes, and it happened a couple of times, which never normally happens,” Rai said. “And then when I got to the golf course on Wednesday, it took me a while to get from the parking lot to the practice area. So, yeah, that definitely felt a little bit different.”

The grocery store? Did he have any more details?

“I mean, just a couple of customers that were just doing their regular grocery shopping just came over and just congratulated on the PGA and the performance. So, yeah, that was very unexpected.”

Does he always do the shopping?

Sam Burns will start the final round of the 2026 Memorial Tournament with an outside chance for a comeback victory. But his task would be far easier had he not thrown away two shots with a crooked number early Sunday morning.

The culprit? One of the many trees that border the fairways at Muirfield Village. That tree burned Burns not once, but twice in a row in Round 3 to threaten his chances of winning on Sunday.

Sam Burns hits tree with two straight shots at 2026 Memorial

Round 3 play was suspended Saturday night after storms caused havoc all day. Burns was among the majority of the field that needed to return Sunday morning to finish the third round before getting on to Round 4.

When Burns arrived at Muirfield’s par-5 11th hole early Sunday, he was one under on the round and seven under for the tournament.

At the time, just a couple shots separated the U.S. Ryder Cup team member from J.T. Poston’s lead.

Things started going awry quickly at 11, when Burns lost his tee shot to the right. It ended up in deep rough, with a tree located directly in front of him some 10 yards away.

Burns pulled a long iron and planned to hit a strong punch to advance his ball up the fairway, giving him a shot at the green with his third. He planned to send his ball just to the left of the tree’s trunk, and just under one of its overhanging branches.

But his first attempt did not go to plan. His ball instead slammed directly into the tree, bouncing backward and coming to rest not far from its starting place.

Microphones overheard Burns registering his shock that the ball came out so high. Still, with a better punch on try No. 2, he could reach the green in 4 and potentially save par.

But when Burns reeled back and swung for the second time, his ball caught the same tree again. This time it only clipped the branch then continued forward… directly into the creek bisecting the 11th fairway.

A penalty shot followed, and eventually Burns holed out for a devastating double-bogey 7 to drop to five under.

Over his remaining holes in Round 3, Burns rallied to make two birdies and finish with a 71.

The Memorial Tournament winner will make $4 million, as you can see at the bottom of this story. And the event will pay out $20 million total. And Jack Nicklaus says money is part of what makes a tournament attractive to players.

But, in hosting the Memorial for 50 years, Nicklaus said there’s more.

“I mean, first of all, the course, the date,” Nicklaus said earlier this week. “I think the purse to some degree, not a major degree. If you have a really good golf course and you really have it in great condition, the players, by their comments of what it is, sort of help advance that. I think most of the players that have come here have really liked the golf course and really liked the condition.

“But also, you know, one thing I tried to do is I knew how I would like to be treated as a player and where I went and what I did. And, you know, there’s some tournaments that did it pretty well. Some did it fair. I think we do it pretty well here. And I think the whole idea of making sure that the players are taken care of from a practice facility — to be able to get from the practice facility to the putting green and the first tee, to be able to — you know, I think autographs are great for the kids and so forth, but there’s a certain time and place for ’em, and to me, it’s not on the golf course. The practice area and that area is fine.

“So that was one of the things we did. Augusta does the same thing with that. I think that we saw all those things that people — that I liked to have done as a player. You have your courtesy cars. You have — you try to just — I’m forgetting 90 percent of it, but, you know, I always sort of liked the way things — so we try to do that here. The way I would like to be treated, the way that I thought a player should be treated, that’s what we wanted to do here. So that’s part of help building what you’re doing.

“I think that the support you get from the golfing community and the press, obviously. You know, you guys have given us great press. You’ve given us great respect as far as what we do and what we try to do. That’s very important to what we do.”

With that, here are the money payouts for the Memorial, played at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.

The final round of the 2026 Memorial Tournament gets underway Sunday morning at Muirfield Village in Ohio.
How to watch Memorial on Sunday

Whoever wins this year’s Memorial on Sunday at Muirfield Village will have to survive a marathon final day to do so. Saturday’s third round was suspended repeatedly due to poor weather. Thirty-six hole leader J.T. Poston only played five holes in Round 3 on Saturday. In that short time, Ryan Gerard tied him for the lead at nine under.

Now they will go to battle over 31 holes to try and take home the Memorial title at its $4 million winner’s prize.

Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler both had reached one under when play was suspended Saturday. They’ll each try to make up eight shots over their final 20 holes to take home the win.

The 2026 Memorial Tournament comes to an end on Sunday with the final round at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio.
Memorial Sunday tee times: What to know

Sunday will see the best players on the PGA Tour battle it out in the final round. But we don’t know exactly what their tee times will be yet, and that’s thanks to some inclement weather that hampered the course on Saturday. (UPDATE: Sunday tee times have been released and can be viewed below.)

The weather was so bad on Saturday that most players did not finish their third rounds. The last several groups only got a few holes in before darkness fell.

That includes co-leader J.T. Poston, who only completed five holes of his third round on Saturday. He, along with the rest of the contenders, will have to play more than 30 holes on Sunday to determine the winner.

The third round will officially resume at 7:30 a.m. ET on Sunday. Final-round tee times are expected to fall from 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. ET. Players will be grouped in threesomes and use split tees on Sunday at Muirfield Village to try and get the round in before dark. This post will be updated with the Round 4 tee times once they are determined.

Friday at the 2026 Memorial Tournament saw carnage up and down the leaderboard. Gusty, ever-changing winds, deep rough and increasingly crispy greens at Muirfield Village sent scores soaring.

The treacherous conditions inspired adjectives like “brutal” and “insane” from the likes of PGA Tour stars Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Thomas (who needed a hug from Rory McIlroy after the round), while World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler was left feeling like he was going to shoot “about 90.”

Even Ryan Gerard, who shot 69 and sits in second, said of Muirfield Village, “Mentally and physically this place is a monster.”

Justin Thomas on Memorial carnage: ‘Hardest round of golf I can remember’

While J.T. Poston, somehow, some way, managed to shoot an incredible 65 in Round 2 that gave him a one-shot lead, many stars were just happy to make the cut given the conditions on Friday. Jason Day (76), Jordan Spieth (79) and Rickie Fowler (82) all failed to earn Saturday tee times.

You can count Thomas among those thrilled to survive and play the weekend. After finishing his round, Thomas told reporters that it may have been the “hardest round of golf” he had ever played, even counting major championships.

“I can’t put into words how hard that was. That was the hardest round of golf that I can remember, major, non-major, it was just insane,” an exhausted Thomas said Friday evening in Ohio. “The wind wasn’t really the direction it was supposed to be or kind of forecasted to be for kind of like half the day and that usually isn’t something that happens when it’s at 25, 20, 25 miles an hour. It was just hard. You don’t have a bail out on half your shots out here so you have a lot of shots over water and you’re like, well, I hope it’s helping or I hope it’s not hurting. But everybody’s dealing with the same thing, but, man, it was brutal.”

He added: “I’m sure it sucks for all of us.”

Thomas also shared that while he’s happy he made the cut, he’s also happy he doesn’t have to play next week, because the brutal conditions have zapped his confidence.

“I mean, if I was playing next week, no, this would be absolutely terrible. I would be exhausted, I would be, I probably wouldn’t have a lot of confidence in my game. I probably would not want to do anything the next week. So I’m very happy that I have a week off next week,” Thomas said.

Thomas finished with a three-over 75, leaving him five over and T47 heading into the weekend at the Memorial. McIlroy finds himself T19 after shooting a 74 on Friday.

The two stars played alongside each other on Friday, and the experience was so taxing, they skipped the post-round handshake and instead comforted each other with a hug after putting out on the final green.

“It was a mutual hug,” Thomas said. “We just looked at each other and I think we both, we were like, we need a hug. He probably realized I needed one maybe more. It was a grind. It was a different grind for him, but, yeah, we were just battling out there.”

Scottie Scheffler: ‘I felt like I was going to shoot about 90 today’

If there’s one quote that sums up Friday’s round at this week’s Memorial, it’s this one from Scheffler, the World No. 1 and two-time defending champion.

“I felt like I was going to shoot about 90 today,” Scheffler remarked Friday evening. To be fair, Scheffler was talking more about how poorly he was playing, rather than the difficult playing conditions.

“I don’t know if you were out there on the course, but I was going to be hard to find if you were out watching my group,” Scheffler joked. “I felt like I got my first birdie putt of the day on the 13th hole. I maybe had one on 11, but I couldn’t imagine I hit more than six or seven greens today.”

He did add that the tough test Muirfield Village presents exacerbates bad shots.

“So around this golf course, with heavy rough and deep bunkers, you got to be hitting the ball in the right spots and for a long time today that was definitely not the case for me.”

Of course, it’s all relative. Scheffler toughed out an even-par 72 on Friday that featured three birdies. Only 13 players put together better scores in Round 2.

Scheffler only beat Fleetwood by one shot on Friday, but Fleetwood sounded more like Thomas when describing the conditions.

“Yeah, it was pretty brutal, actually. It was tough,” Fleetwood said on Friday. “If you could sort of process that the wind could do anything, and on top of that, it was very, very firm, the greens were crispy now. It was just tough.”

Fleetwood explained that at times the wind was so tricky, he and playing partner Cameron Young found themselves playing vastly different yardages from the same spots.

“When you’re in a two ball so you can see what the other player does as well and like, the 10th hole today… Cameron’s hitting 8-iron from where he was in the fairway and it carried 160 yards. I hit a wedge and carried it 160 yards in the space of what, a minute? And then 12, Cam hit a great shot, and I heard him say he was playing it 158 and, I mean it didn’t sniff the green. I played it three yards less, and it looked like it was struggling at one stage. It was confusing, but that’s what the wind did, it swirled around a lot. And then you got to pick your poison on where you want to chip from.”

As for Poston’s 65 in the face of brutal winds, Fleetwood said, “That’s phenomenal… how many people broke par this afternoon?”

Just 13 for the entire day, Tommy.

Heading into Saturday’s third round at the Memorial, only 11 players are under par.

The second round at the Memorial saw most players’ scores soar in treacherous conditions at Muirfield Village. But someone forgot to tell J.T. Poston.

While other players were holding onto dear life, Poston went out and made eight birdies and one bogey for a seven-under 65.

The incredible round launched Poston into sole possession of the lead at the halfway mark. Ryan Gerard will start Round 3 one shot back at eight under.

Rory McIlroy (74) and Scottie Scheffler (72) are tied at one over heading into Round 3. Jordan Spieth is heading home early after a Friday 79 saw him miss the cut.
