RBC Canadian Open betting favorites

Next week, the best players in the world will head to the third major of the year, the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills. But first, some of the top PGA Tour pros will battle it out in Canada’s national championship.

European Ryder Cupper Matt Fitzpatrick is one of the betting favorites at the RBC Canadian Open, coming into the week with +1200 odds-to-win.

After years of struggles on the course, Fitzpatrick has reclaimed his elite game this season, reeling off three PGA Tour wins already to push his career total to five. He’s risen to No. 4 in the Official World Golf Ranking in the process.

Fitzpatrick isn’t alone on top of the odds list. He’s joined by a fellow European Ryder Cupper who is also ranked in the top 10 of the OWGR: Tommy Fleetwood.

The 2026 U.S. Open is just a few weeks away, but before the game’s best players head to Shinnecock Hills, the PGA Tour’s top tier will battle it out at this week’s Memorial Tournament.

The betting favorite at Muirfield Village is exactly who you’d expect: World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who comes into the week with +260 odds-to-win.

After earning a T14 at the PGA Championship, which, incredibly, was one of his worst finishes of the season, Scheffler launched back into the top 5 in his last start at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, where he finished solo third. Now he’s hunting for his second win of the year and third career Memorial title.

Rory McIlroy returns to action this week for the first time since finishing T7 at the PGA. His odds to start the week are +900.

The PGA Tour’s Texas swing continues this week with the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth and for once, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler isn’t listed as the betting favorite for a simple reason: He’s not playing this week! Instead, Swedish star Ludvig Aberg sits atop the betting oddsboard.

Charles Schwab Challenge betting favorites

This week represents a tough time on the PGA Tour schedule for the world’s top players. With back-to-back Signature Events preceding the PGA Championship, many players who elected to tee it up at last week’s CJ Cup Byron Nelson were playing their fourth week in a row, and will use this week for some much-needed rest ahead of next week’s Memorial Tournament — another Signature Event.

Conversely, those who opted to take last week off will be fresh and ready for this week. The top six players on the Charles Schwab Challenge odds list tell the story: none of them competed in last week’s tournament.

There is one exception when you reach No. 7, though: Wyndham Clark! Despite his victory on Sunday — the fourth of his career — the 32-year-old is not the prohibitive favorite at Colonial and instead has odds to win of +2500. Clark, notably, did not play the two Signature Events ahead of the PGA, and missed the cut at Aronimink. (Update: Clark withdrew from the Charles Schwab Challenge field on Monday afternoon.)

This week, the tournament-favorite crown belongs to World No. 13 Ludvig Aberg, whose odds to win are +1000. Just behind him is Russell Henley at +1800, followed by Ben Griffin, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler and Robert MacIntyre at +2200.

You’d have to go back several years to find a major championship at which Scottie Scheffler was not the prohibitive betting favorite, and for good reason: The 29-year-old has been a stellar performer ever since he burst on the PGA Tour scene in 2020 and was awarded PGA Tour Rookie of the Year.

Since then, Scheffler has amassed 20 PGA Tour wins and four major championships, and is settling into his 157th consecutive week at the World No. 1 — a run which began in May of 2023. And in addition to those four major victories, Scheffler has finished in the top 10 an astonishing 13 times, four of which were at the PGA before his win.

Needless to say, at this week’s PGA Championship at Aronimink, the year’s second major championship, the betting landscape hasn’t changed much, with Scheffler atop the list at +450. Did we mention he’s also the defending champion, with three straight runner-up finishes leading up to this week?

Despite Scheffler’s lengthy list of credentials, you could make the argument that he’s not the hottest player in this week’s field. That mantle belongs to Cameron Young, who, after winning the Players Championship and Cadillac Championship, is now No. 3 in the world, behind only Scheffler and Rory McIlroy. Young’s odds to win this week: +1200.

And speaking of McIlroy, the back-to-back Masters champion is right behind Scheffler in the odds at +850. Whew. That’s quite a trio of contenders, and we haven’t even mentioned the likes of other stars in the field like Jon Rahm, Xander Schauffele, Bryson DeChambeau, Matt Fitzpatrick, the list goes on!
