Justin Rose won the Fort Worth Invitational at Colonial CC with a final round 64 on Sunday and a 20-under-par total. The win is the second of the season for Rose (with a winner’s check worth $1,278,000) and the ninth of his PGA Tour career. The 37-year-old Englishman is currently the fifth ranked player in the world. Here’s a full list of the TaylorMade gear he used to get the job done.

Justin Rose cruises to victory at Fort Worth Invitational for second PGA Tour win of season

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Justin Rose closed with a 6-under 64 and finished at 20 under Sunday at Colonial for a three-stroke victory over defending U.S. Open champion Brooks Koepka in the Fort Worth Invitational.

It was the ninth career PGA Tour victory for Rose, the 37-year-old Englishman and No. 5 player in the world who also won his 2017-18 season debut in October at the HSBC Champions in Shanghai. He is the fifth player with multiple wins this season. Rose got nearly $1.3 million and a plaid jacket for winning at Hogan’s Alley.

“Really, really proud of this one,” Rose said. “This is a special victory for me. I think obviously just winning here at this venue I think is really what means so much. A tournament that I pick up the trophy and the first thing I saw was Ben Hogan’s name twice. It sort of says a lot.”

Koepka shot 63, but had started the day four strokes behind Rose in the final group. Emiliano Grillo had a 64 to finish third at 16 under.

While Rose missed matching Zach Johnson’s 2010 tournament scoring record of 259 because of bogey on the 72nd hole, first-round leader Kevin Na matched the course record with a closing 61 and finished fourth at 14 under.

Fourth-ranked Jon Rahm shot 68 and was tied for fifth at 10 under with Louis Oosthuizen (68) and Kevin Tway (67).

The win at Colonial, the longest-running PGA Tour event still played at its original site (since 1946), adds to an impressive list of traditional courses where Rose has won.

Rose got his first PGA Tour win at Muirfield Village in the 2010 Memorial, and won the 2013 U.S. Open at Merion. His 11 international victories include the 2014 Scottish Open at Royal Aberdeen Golf Club, and the 2007 Volvo Masters at Valderrama in Spain.

After birdies on Nos. 1 and 2 for the third day in a row, Rose gave up a stroke at the difficult 459-yard third when his drive went into a fairway bunker and he hit from there into the rough.

Rose got that stroke back with a 23-foot birdie putt at the 474-yard fifth hole, the toughest at Colonial, to restore his lead to four over Koepka.

“That kick started the momentum on the front nine,” he said.

Koepka’s highlight shot of the day was birdie blast out of a greenside bunker at the sixth hole to get to 13 under. But Rose immediately responded by making his 12-foot birdie putt. Rose had a five-stroke lead, his biggest, after a 10-foot birdie at the ninth hole got him to 19 under.

Na tapped in for a birdie at the 435-yard 18th hole to match his career-best score and become the seventh PGA Tour golfer with a 9-under round at Colonial — the first since Chad Campbell in the third round in 2004. Na also shot a 61 in the third round of the 2010 Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina.

After an opening 62 that ended with a 92 foot chip-in from the rough when he ended his first round at No. 9, Na fell back in the field with a 73 in the second round and then shot even par Saturday.

Jordan Spieth made a short birdie at No. 18 on Sunday for a closing 68 to finish 5 under and tied for 32nd at Colonial, where he had a win and two runner-up finishes the past three years. The No. 3 player in the world has played in 20 PGA Tour events since his last win, at the British Open last summer.

Kevin Na ends stellar week at Colonial by tying course record of 61

Kevin Na put together two of the most impressive rounds on the PGA Tour this year, yet it still wasn’t enough to catch Justin Rose.

Three days after opening the Forth Worth Invitational at Colonial Country Club with an eight-under 62, Na closed with a nine-under 61 on Sunday to tie the course record.

“You know, first round I was one out of (tying the course record),” Na said. “I was thinking, One of these days I’m going to get a chance to shoot the course record. I didn’t think it would come on Sunday.”

Na is just the second player since 1983 to have multiple rounds of 62 or better in a week at Colonial.

He made birdies on 2, 3, 4 and 8 to make the turn in 31 and added back-to-back birdies on 10-11 and 14-15. Needing to eagle the par-4 18 to set the course record, Na nearly holed out from 146 yards. He tapped in for birdie and his 61.

“I had a beautiful nine-iron,” Na said. “Drew it in there, turned to the left flag. It’s a little dangerous. Obviously anything left goes in the water. So pitched it two yards right. With that hook spin coming in it nearly went in.”

Na, who was the first-round leader, shot 73 Friday and 70 Saturday. Yet despite his pair of stellar rounds he still finished six back of Rose, who won at 20 under. Na finished alone in fourth.

Justin Rose takes four-stroke lead into final day at Colonial

FORT WORTH, Texas — Justin Rose birdied the first three holes to quickly extend his lead at the Fort Worth Invitational and finished with a 4-under 66 on Saturday to take a four-stroke advantage into the final round at Colonial.

Rose, the 2013 U.S. Open champion and Olympic gold medalist with eight PGA Tour victories, was 14 under. Emiliano Grillo, his playing partner, shot 69 and was at 10 under with Brooks Koepka, who had a 67.

After a two-putt birdie at the opening par 5, Rose had back-to-back birdie putts to get to 13 under. That put him four strokes ahead of Grillo, who had eight pars in a row before consecutive birdies on Nos. 9 and 10.

The closest Grillo got after the opening stretch was three strokes, when he was 11 under with an 8-foot birdie at No. 10. Rose regained his four-stroke edge with birdie at the 616-yard 11th hole, and his only bogey was at the 173-yard 16th, when the tee shot settled on the back fringe and he then missed a 5-foot par chance.

Rose has the largest 54-hole lead at the Hogan’s Alley since Kenny Perryled by seven in 2005 on way to his second decisive win in three years — he had a record eight-stroke lead for three rounds in 2003. The largest lead anyone had taken into the final round since had been two strokes, and that had happened only twice.

Canadian rookie Corey Conners had eight birdies over his last 12 holes for a career-best round of 63 that matched Ted Potter Jr. for the best of the day.

Conners was tied for fourth at 8 under, in a group of five players that included Jon Rahm, the world’s fourth-ranked player, and Louis Oosthuizen after they both shot 64. Five more players were at 7 under, including Potter.

Rahm, who last year tied for second at Colonial with Jordan Spieth behind winner Kevin Kisner, was 6 under after 10 holes Saturday. Then Rahm bogeyed the 616-yard par-5 11th when he followed a 342-yard drive in the fairway with an approach hit out of bounds.

Before playing his first Colonial last year, the 23-year-old Spaniard had been there during tournament week the previous two years to accept the Ben Hogan Award that goes to the nation’s top college golfer. He was a four-time All-American at Arizona State.

Spieth shot 70 on Saturday, putting him 11 strokes back at 3 under.
