WATCH: Zion Williamson is the NBA’s next major star…but his golf game needs work

Zion Williamson takes a cut at Topgolf Las Vegas.

Zion Williamson was the prize of the 2019 NBA Lottery — congrats, New Orleans! — but he’ll be sidelined for the rest of the Las Vegas Summer League after suffering a bruised left knee on Friday.

Williamson said the decision to sit out the rest of the summer is “more precautionary” as he prepares for the regular season. But you know what this means — more time to play golf! And, according to our expert analysis and this Topgolf Las Vegas video posted to Instagram, he’s got some work to do there.

We’ll give him a little credit because it’s got to be hard swinging these stock Topgolf clubs when you are 6 feet, 7 inches, but maybe he should visit a local teacher to get this figured out. Check out Williamson’s swing below — he’s a lefty, just like his shot — and see for yourself. He hits a slicing screamer that barely gets off the ground.

But hey, he’s actually making progress. On Saturday, when he played a little golf to celebrate his 19th birthday, he didn’t even make contact. Luckily for him he can always have the NBA as a back-up plan.
