Watch: Phil Mickelson Mocks Rory McIlroy’s Bow With Birdie Curtsy

October 1, 2016

CHASKA, Minn. — Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy seem to be exchanging jabs at the Ryder Cup.

Mickelson drilled a long birdie putt on the par-4 10th hole during his four-ball match on Saturday, giving him and Matt Kuchar a 2 up lead over Martin Kaymer and Sergio Garcia.

Mickelson then celebrated in a way we are pretty sure he never has before — he curtsied. What makes this noteworthy is that Rory McIlroy ended Friday’s play by making a long eagle putt and then bowing for the crowd. Then, on Saturday morning, McIlroy and Thomas Pieters beat Mickelson and Rickie Fowler 4 and 2 in foursomes. It was McIlroy’s first time beating Mickelston in a team event in four tries, so perhaps Lefty had a sour taste in his mouth on Saturday afternoon.
