PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — The total purse and payout breakdown for the 2019 U.S. Open has been released, and the winner is going to go home with one giant paycheck.
The winner of the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach receives $2.25 million, up from the 2.16 million Brooks Koepka earned for winning the 2018 U.S. Open at Shinnecock. The total purse of $12.5 million is up from $12 million last year, too.
The second-place finisher at Pebble Beach also easily clears seven figures, taking home a check of $1.35 million. Third place receives $830,466, fourth gets $582,175, and fifth takes home $484,896.
The payout breakdown for every finisher is below. The U.S. Open winner also receives a 10-year exemption in the event, a five-year exemption on the PGA Tour, and five-year exemptions into the Masters, PGA Championship and British Open. But it’s hard to beat that $2.25 million first-place check.
