Viewer’s guide: AT&T Byron Nelson tee times, TV schedule and total purse

The final week of PGA Championship prep has arrived as pros, looking for one more tune-up before the second major of the season, head to Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas for the AT&T Byron Nelson.

This is the second straight year the Nelson has been played at Trinity, a 2016 Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw design.

Aaron Wise won last year and is back to defend his title. He’s grouped with Ryan Palmer and Brooks Koepka in the first two rounds. They’ll go off at 8:30 a.m. ET on Thursday on the 10th tee. Koepka is one week away from defending his PGA title. He often chooses to play the week before majors.

“I like building a little bit of rhythm, finding your game, figuring out how to score, to manage your game and it’s just something that’s worked for me,” he said. “I think we’ve looked at stats and usually my second week out is my best week. So trying to make those for the majors.”

Other featured groups include Patrick Reed, Marc Leishman and Charles Howell III (1:30 p.m., 1st tee Thursday), and Jordan Spieth, Henrik Stenson and Hideki Matsuyama (1:40 p.m., 1st tee Thursday).

Spieth will be the hometown favorite this week as he looks to regain his form prior to the PGA Championship, which begins on May 16 at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, N.Y. He’s yet to record a top 10 this season, and come next week he’ll be the lone player who could capture the career Grand Slam by winning at Bethpage.

Tony Romo is also teeing it up this week after receiving a sponsor’s invite.
