The 2023 Valero Texas Open, the final event before the Masters, begins this week at TPC San Antonio in Texas. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the event, including a full TV schedule, streaming schedule and complete Texas Open tee times for the first round.
Texas Open preview
Coming off an exciting week at the final WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, the PGA Tour is staying in Texas for the last event before the 2023 Masters begins next week. While many stars are sitting this week out, plenty of other pros are teeing it up with the hope of earning a tee time at Augusta National.
Tyrrell Hatton is the betting favorite at TPC San Antonio following a strong start to the season, but he’s already qualified for the Masters. One big name in the field who has yet to punch his ticket is Rickie Fowler.
Fowler has had a good season himself, but after years of struggles, he still has some work to do to qualify for the Masters. He’s currently ranked No. 59 in the OWGR, and the top 50 players after this week get an invite. So Fowler will need a very strong finish this week to play the first major of the year. Of course, a victory at the Texas Open will automatically give Fowler a Masters spot, as is the case with any other player not already qualified.
Golf Channel and NBC will provide TV coverage of the Valero Texas Open and PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ and Peacock will stream the action online, with ESPN+ providing exclusive early coverage of all four rounds.
