The PGA Tour’s Florida Swing gets underway this week with the 2023 Honda Classic at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the tournament.
Honda Classic preview
After back-to-back designated events at the WM Phoenix Open and Genesis Invitational, many top pros are skipping the Honda Classic to rest up for the remainder of the season. But there are still plenty of proven champions teeing it up this week at PGA National to provide entertainment that will last the weekend.
The top-ranked players in the field this week are Sungjae Im, Billy Horschel and Shane Lowry, who are ranked Nos. 18-20 in the Official World Golf Ranking.
They’ll be joined by both captains of the 2023 Ryder Cup, which goes down this coming September in Rome: European captain Luke Donald and U.S. captain Zach Johnson.
But these types of events are the perfect opportunity for an up-and-coming pro to post his first win, just as Sepp Straka did at last year’s Honda Classic, where he bested Lowry by one shot.
Golf Channel and NBC will provide TV coverage of the Honda Classic, and PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ and Peacock will stream the action online, with ESPN+ providing exclusive early coverage of all four rounds.
