Tiger Woods began the second round of the 2020 PGA Championship two under and in the hunt, but after two front-nine bogeys on Friday he could be in danger of missing the cut.
Woods shot a two-over 37 on the front nine at TPC Harding Park on Friday, as he struggled to hole any putts with the new putter he put in his bag for this week.
Woods made bogeys on the 3rd and 9th, both coming after he failed to get up and down from greenside bunkers.
Woods missed a seven-footer for birdie on the 1st hole, a 10-footer for birdie on 5 and a 14-foot birdie try on 7. Through seven holes, he had just eight feet of total putts made, and he never made a putt outside of three feet on the front nine.
Even after nine holes, Woods birdied the par-5 10th to get back to one under for the week, which was crucial. The projected cut is currently one over. The top 70 and ties make the weekend, and as of this writing there are 84 players at one over.
Haotong Li is the tournament leader at eight under. You can follow the final round here.
