Augusta or Pebble? Jordan or LeBron? Eight rapid-fire questions for Harold Varner III

Harold Varner III is currently in his fourth full year on Tour. The 28-year-old East Carolina University graduate is still seeking his maiden PGA Tour victory, but is getting closer, with two top 10 finishes so far this year — T6 at the Puerto Rico Open, and T10 at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

In the April 2019 issue of GOLF, we thought it would be fun to ask Varner III a few of our “This or That” questions. Here are his entertaining answers.

1. Coffee or Tea?

Neither. I just get up energized, right out of bed. [Laughs]

2. Twizzlers or Swedish Fish?

Twizzlers, all day.

3. Cart or caddie?

Cart. No-brainer there.

4. Wooden tees or plastic tees?

Wooden. Not even close.

5. Jordan or LeBron?

Gosh. Jordan’s the GOAT, man. It’s just, I was born in Akron, so I’m indifferent. Both of them are great for basketball in their eras.

6. Tiger’s putting or DJ’s driving?

Tiger’s putting.

7. Masters or U.S. Open win?

Masters.

8. Augusta National or Pebble Beach?

I’ve never played Augusta, and I bet you it’s pretty special. But I’ll go with Pebble until I play Augusta.
