No, it doesn’t come with a tee time at Augusta, but it covers you for pretty much everything else.
In an eye-popping offer pegged to a certain golf tournament in Georgia, The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee, a luxe resort outside Atlanta, has unveiled a blowout Masters package for the one-percent.
The price: $160,000 for two people. The perks: Well, where to begin?
In addition to Masters badges on Thursday and Sunday, the offer includes rarefied dining, private air transportation, spa treatments, golf — the sort of pampering, in short, that top Tour pros enjoy throughout the year.
The experience extends from Wednesday, April 6 to Monday, April 11, a five-night stretch during which you’ll stay in an executive suite at the five-star property, tended to by your own personal concierge. Access to all resort amenities is yours: tennis courts, fitness classes, canoes and kayaks, and more.
Reynolds Lake Oconee sits about an hour from the Atlanta airport. If you’re driving. You’ll be flying. Privately. (To and from the resort via Atlanta or surrounding regions in the Southeast.)
On Thursday and Sunday, Masters badge in hand, you’ll be whisked by private ground transport to the tournament. But you don’t just watch golf. You play it, too: three rounds at the resort’s top three tracks.
That’s 18 holes on Wednesday at the Great Waters course, complete with a private boat ride to and from the clubhouse; another 18 on Friday at the Landing, which you’ll play in the company of a TaylorMade Tour professional; and a third round on Saturday at the Oconee course.
With so much activity, a golf nut could work up an appetite, so after a welcome dinner on Wednesday at Gaby’s by the Lake, featuring a chef’s sampling, beer flights and bourbon tastings, there’s little let up in the haute cuisine. On Friday evening, there’s a private dinner at Georgia’s bistro, punctuated by a five-course tasting menu and prized wines.
On Saturday night, your private dinner takes place on the putting green, where you’ll be gifted a bottle of Louis XIII cognac and a personalized cigar humidor filled with premium stogies. A private cigar rolling station will also be on hand for the occasion, you know, just in case.
You’ll be chauffeured in a golf cart to and from the dinner, and waited on by a private server. Afterwards, you and your companion will be offered entry into a glow-in-the-dark putting tournament. Since there’s only two of you, the worst you can finish is runner-up.
Sounds rough, right?
But not to worry. On Monday, fresh from attending the final round of the Masters, you’ll be treated to a spa relaxation day: a hot shave, a haircut and an 80-minute deep tissue massage. You’ll get all-day private boat, jet-ski access and a private Taylormade club-fitting, which you’ll walk away from with a set of custom-build clubs.
Not a bad trip, eh?
You’ll play Augusta some other time.
