RBC Canadian Open Subpar picks: Favorite bets of the week

There’s a new course in play for this week’s RBC Canadian Open, although one player in the field is already familiar with it.

You’d have difficulty finding anyone who has played the North Course at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley more than Taylor Pendrith. The Canadian pro grew up nearby, played two PGA Tour Canada events there and even won one of them. Now he’s back as a member of the PGA Tour and for this week’s RBC Canadian Open.

Pendrith is also Subpar co-host Colt Knost’s Fanatics Sportsbook bet of the week.

“A guy that won on this golf course, I don’t think a lot of them know about, one of the guys who won an event here is Taylor Pendrith,” Knost said. “He’s a proud Canadian and you can get him at Fanatics Sportsbook to top 20 at [+125].”

Subpar co-host Drew Stoltz, however, went with an American for his pick: Sam Burns to top 20 (+140).

“The guy I’m taking is playing some good golf,” he said. “Top 20 in four of his last five. Just coming off a 12th at the Memorial. He’s been putting phenomenal all year, and the ball-striking is starting to line up with that.”

Rory McIlroy is the betting favorite at +450, with Ludvig Aberg (+1400) and Corey Conners (+1600) trailing.
