After a one-year delay, the best men’s golfers in the world are ready for the 2021 Olympics men’s golf competition in Tokyo. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the tournament all week long.
Olympic men’s golf preview
It’s always a long wait between Summer Olympics, typically four years, but everyone had to wait an extra year for the Tokyo Olympics after the Covid-19 pandemic postponed the Games for one year. But that’s nothing compared to the wait golfers endured before the 2016 Olympics. The Rio Games featured the return of golf to the Olympics for the first time since 1904.
The Rio golf events were a rousing success, setting up what should be an exciting second edition in Tokyo. The format for the event is unchanged from five years ago: four rounds of stroke play, with the top-3 finishers earning medals.
Fans eager to find out who will grace the podium this year at Kasumigaseki Country Club are in luck. You can watch the entire competition live on TV or stream it online via Golf Channel and NBCOlympics.com. The time change will be difficult for U.S. viewers, with each round occurring overnight. But Golf Channel will re-air each round the following day, giving you another way to catch the action.
