UPDATE: Golfers will return to the course at 4:30 p.m. ET to restart play in the final round.
The final round of the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club has been suspended due to inclement weather. The horn blew shortly after 3:40 p.m. ET as a line of storms began to descend upon Dublin, Ohio.
The severe weather is hardly a surprise. Temperatures reached into the 90s (and the heat index into the 100s) throughout much of Ohio to go along with high winds. The Weather Channel shows only a 15 percent chance of rain in the Dublin area until 7:00 p.m., but does forecast storms for this evening throughout much of the state.
Jon Rahm, who entered the day with a four-stroke lead and began his round looking comfortable amid wicked conditions at Muirfield, was on the fifth hole at the time of the delay. Whether Rahm or the remaining golfers on the course finish Sunday depends on the length of the delay and the amount of sunlight available. You can view the full leaderboard here.
