Masters weather update: Will rain impact Augusta National?

Masters week has gotten off to a wet start.

The opening of the patron gates at Augusta National was delayed 30 minutes to 8 a.m. Monday due to inclement weather, and there remains a chance of thunderstorms throughout the afternoon as the 2025 Masters kicks off.

The forecast shows the potential for up to 1.5″ of rain at Augusta National.

Play was suspended again due to weather later on Monday, when the course was evacuated at 11:25 a.m. Play was eventually called for the day just after 3 p.m.

But thankfully, Monday appears to be the worst weather day of Masters week 2025.

For the rest of the week, temperatures are expected to remain cooler, in the upper 60s and lower 70s with winds settling into the 7-14 mph range for most of the competition rounds. Things should mostly dry out, making the golf course an excellent championship test for the field of 95.

However, there is a chance of rain for Friday and Saturday, although this doesn’t look like the type of weather that could halt play. Likewise, it doesn’t look anything like the forecast for the delayed and waterlogged Masters two years ago when Jon Rahm played 30 holes on Sunday on his way to a win.

Keep reading below for the entire 2025 Masters week forecast.
