Let’s get a couple things straight. I don’t watch American Idol.
I once did, back in the Clay Aiken days. Shoutout to Ruben Studdard. My mom also bought me Justin Guarini’s debut album, but that was 16 years ago. In 2019, I don’t watch American Idol, but I may have to start again.
Logan Johnson is the sole reason why. Johnson is 20 years old and proud enough to list his occupation as “golf shop attendant.” Anyone who has ever worked in that role knows it can be a bit of a thankless gig, but he’s embracing it. You know what that means. Golf now has its rooting interest in American Idol.
Johnson is from Boise, Idaho, and unfortunately it’s not clear what golf shop he works from, but during high school, he was definitely Team TaylorMade.
How will he fare on the reality show? He’s passed his first test. You can watch Johnson’s debut on the show below, where he earns a “yes” vote from all three judges.
