It’s official: Anthony Kim will make his return to pro golf on Friday at the LIV Golf Jeddah event in Saudi Arabia.

LIV Golf made the announcement Wednesday morning via a social media post, writing, “CONFIRMED: @anthonykim_golf has joined LIV Golf as a season-long Wild Card player.”

Unconfirmed reports that Kim would join LIV this week had been popping up all week long, with the first news leaking over the weekend. But the official announcement corrects some of the previously-reported details.

While Kim will play as a wild card this week, as opposed to joining one of the four-player LIV teams, it’s not temporary. He’s going to compete as a LIV wild card all season long. That suggests Kim’s LIV move is a more permanent one, though anything can change if and when the deal between the PGA Tour and PIF is finalized.

Kim’s return to golf was first reported by GOLF’s Dylan Dethier back in January. At that point, Kim was still deciding on whether to make his return on the PGA Tour or join the growing list of defectors on LIV Golf.

Kim first came to fame as a young phenom on the PGA Tour, where he won three times from 2008-2010 and starred on the U.S. Ryder Cup team. The last pro golf tournament he played was the 2012 Wells Fargo Championship, where he withdrew due to a wrist injury that led to his early retirement.

The LIV Golf Jeddah event begins Friday, March 1.
