What a year it’s been for Jon Rahm, huh?
The 29-year-old Spaniard won The Masters in April of last year, earned victories at three other PGA Tour events, finished T10 in 10 tournaments, and then got paid by agreeing to a lucrative deal with LIV Golf in December.
While all of the golf stuff has been incredible for Rahm, his latest victory might be the most memorable of them all: The announcement that he and his wife Kelley are expecting baby No. 3 sometime this year.
In a recent social media post, Rahm had a little fun in sharing the news, saying the family’s “officially moving to zone defense.” Given the madness going on this March with the NCAA Tournament, it was a nicely played dad joke.
In the posted photo, Rahm and his wife are holding their two kiddos, Kepa and Eneko, while sharing the ultrasound picture of baby No. 3. The family didn’t release any other information — such as the sex or the due date — but the expectation is that the latest addition will arrive sometime later this year.
As a new dad myself, here’s me raising the proverbial glass to Rahm and his family. All of his success on the golf course has (undoubtedly) been incredible, but nothing beats coming home to your kids — regardless of winning or losing.
Rahm returns to action next week at LIV’s Miami event, then looks towards Augusta in two weeks, where he seeks to become the first player to defend his Masters title since Tiger Woods 22 years ago.
