Jon Rahm is leaving Augusta National with very little doubt as to who is the best golfer world.
Rahm shot a brilliant final-round three-under 69 to complete a marathon Sunday at the Masters where he played 30 holes and turned a four-shot deficit into a four-shot win.
It’s Rahm’s fourth title this year and his second major title following the 2021 U.S. Open.
The win also comes on what would have been the Spaniard’s idol Seve Ballesteros’ 66th birthday. Rahm also channeled Ballesteros’ signature creativity for his final par on the 72nd hole after his tee shot struck a tree, leaving him more than 230 yards to the hole.
“For me to get it done on the 40th anniversary of his win, his birthday, on Easter Sunday, it’s incredibly meaningful,” Rahm said in Butler Cabin as he was about to slip on the green jacket. “To finish it off the way I did — an unusual par, very much a Seve-par, it was in a non-purposeful way, a testament to him, and I know he was pulling for me today, and it was a great Sunday.”
His wife, Kelley, quickly joined him on the 18th green with their young son Kepa to celebrate the big win. Check out the best photos from his winner’s celebration below.
