Hello friends and happy Friday from Oak Hill! I tried some new allergy medicine last night because pollen is the real leader in the clubhouse at the PGA Championship right now, but it left me feeling completely exhausted this morning. No itchy eyes, though! After a brief nap in the media center, I am ready to take on the day.

Before we get into what’s been going on at Oak Hill, take a look at my extremely dedicated colleague and pal, Dylan Dethier, who filed a story from the line at Chipotle at 9:59 p.m. last night.

And with a smile on his face! If I weren’t here, this would definitely put him in the running for the media MVP of the week.

Trophies at Oak Hill

The Wanamaker isn’t the only trophy turning heads at the PGA Championship this week.

I’m not really sure what it’s doing here, but in the spirit of growing the game, I’m sure glad it is. May whoever wins this week get a cool photo with the Wanamaker and the NBA trophy together.

Tom Kim

Tom Kim’s dip in a creek at Oak Hill on Thursday evening was truly the fall seen around the world. I headed out to meet him on his final hole the minute after I saw it all happen, and I’m so happy I did because Kim’s reaction to the entire thing was priceless.

Kim saw a handful of media folks waiting off the 9th green for him (his last hole) and invited us to not capture any photos. So I put my camera down and heard him say, “I hope there’s no pictures of that.”

Little did he know that he had already gone extremely viral.

Sports Illustrated’s Gabby Herzig let Kim know that people had very much seen the video of him in the swamp, and his reaction was priceless.

Then he checked his phone to see it all for himself.

Kim may have been embarrassed at first, but I think JJ Watt helped him feel better about the incident.

I look forward to watching this all over again on season two of Full Swing on Netflix.

Old Oak Hill photos

I’ve spent a lot of time scouring Getty Images this week, and some of the old photos of players are Oak Hill are priceless. Do yourself a favor and check these out.

Young Fred! Ian Poulter’s wild hair! Phill in glasses. I could scroll through old golf photos on Getty forever.
