MONTREAL — Alison Lee’s and Megan Khang’s caddies started it, before Lee and Khang upped it, and Max Homa loved it.

So yeah, Kevin Kisner figured, why not. He’ll go tarps off, too.

“Yeah, I’m all in for that,” he said.

In short, you’d be wise to watch Presidents Cup play this weekend at Royal Montreal, lest you miss seeing a 40-year-old man remove his shirt in joy. To explain how things unraveled here, we must rewind to two weeks ago, at the Solheim Cup. There, Khang’s caddie, Jack Fulghum, offered a bet during the second day of play, on the 2nd tee: If either Khang or Lee, her American partner, holed out, they’d win 500 bucks — but Lee wanted more, or less, depending on your point of view.

Shirts. Off.

You likely know what happened next — or at least you can guess. Two strokes later, Lee holed out, and Fulghum and Lee’s caddie, Taylor “Shota” Takada, pranced around sans tops. Unsurprisingly, the scene soon went viral. GOLF’s Claire Rogers captured it on the social-media site X, and her post reached Homa, who said: “Tarps off!!! Let’s go @SolheimCupUSA.”

Kisner seemingly saw the exchange. He was to work as an assistant captain at the Presidents Cup, also a biennial event, and Homa was to play in it, and a thought was hatched.

Another bet was placed.

“I’ll do this in Montreal if you hoop one! Book it!” Kisner replied on X

A short while later, he added: “Better start doing crunches now, got faith in my guy @Maxhoma.”

But would he? Was it all just internet bluster?

Wednesday, during a pre-event press conference, a reporter wondered about it.

“If Max Homa hoops one, will you follow through on your tweet to take your shirt off?”

Yes, Kisner said. He sure would.

“I’m really hoping that later in the week — I hope it’s later in the week because, if I had to take my shirt off today, it would be pretty brutal out there,” Kisner said, referencing the early-week cold weather.

“But, yeah, I’m all in for that.”

Is it risque? Perhaps. Is it all in good fun? We think so. Stay tuned. Khang and Lee will be. News of the Kisner-Homa X agreement had reached their Solheim press conference, where the following exchange was had:

“Curious if you guys saw what Kevin Kisner and Max Homa made and if you have any — the deal they made and your reaction to that?”

Said Khang: “I saw Max Homa’s tweet, but I didn’t see Kevin Kisner’s yet. I’ll have to look that up after.”

Said Lee: “I saw that he said something about if that happens next week at Presidents Cup …”

“Yeah, he said he’ll do the same thing if Max holes out.”

Said Lee: “He’d better do it. We’re going to be watching.”
