Last week, Justin Thomas jumped into the top 10 in the unlikeliest of ways, by holing out for eagle from 103 yards on the 72nd hole of the WM Phoenix Open. That late 2 helped him finish five under in his last six to shoot 65 and tie for 6th.
It also meant Subpar podcast co-host Colt Knost cashed in on his Fanatics Sportsbook favorite bet from last week (Thomas top 10).
As for this week, Knost is going with a similar bet, picking Harris English to finish in the top 10 at the Genesis Invitational, which was moved from Riviera to Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego.

“The man just won at this golf course,” said Knost, referring to English’s Farmers Insurance Open victory last month. “He lost in a playoff at this golf course [in 2015]. He finished third at the U.S. open here [in 2021]. Harry English is [+550] for a top 10. Got a nice week of rest this past week, heading back out to a golf course he loves.”
As for Subpar co-host Drew Stoltz, he’s going with the hot hand: WM Phoenix Open winner Thomas Detry.
“I’m going to go complete recency bias here and I’m going to take everything into consideration that just happened and assume it will happen going forward,” he said. “I’m going Thomas Detry top 20, [+165]. If he can drive it anywhere close to like he was this past week, or really have any semblance of what we saw this last week, I don’t hate that top 20. Talent-wise, he’s special.”
