When Billy Horschel birdied three of his first five holes Sunday at the U.S. Open you could be forgiven for thinking he was a fan of Chambers Bay. He’s not.
Horschel’s frustrations with the greens at Chambers boiled over after he missed a par putt on the sixth hole. After tapping in his bogey putt, Horschel dropped his ball and took a two-handed swing at the ground, apparently slamming the butt of his putter into the green near the hole.
He wasn’t finished. After his 9-foot birdie putt slid past the hole on the ninth, Horschel crept to the hole and made a slithering motion with his hands to signify how he thought his putt snaked instead of rolling true.

It’s clear he’s not a fan of the poa annua/fescue grass greens despite shooting a 3-under 67. Here he criticizes the USGA in his post-round interview:
