Should Alex Fitzpatrick and Matt Fitzpatrick emerge successfully on Sunday in Louisiana, Alex would see his lifelong dream of PGA Tour membership achieved, in no small thanks to his all-world brother. Thanks to the PGA Tour’s winner’s exemption rules, Alex would earn a chance to play full-time on the big tour with a share of a win on Sunday. It’s an unusual opportunity, and yet the kind of story that seems to arrive each week on the PGA Tour: a player chasing down a life dream in some manner, shape or form.
But the brothers Fitzpatrick don’t just have PGA Tour status to look forward to with a win on Sunday afternoon; they also have a whole boatload of cash.
