The 2026 U.S. Open begins Thursday, June 18, with the opening round at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y. You can find full U.S. Open tee times for Thursday’s first round at the bottom of this post.

U.S. Open Round 1 tee times: What to know

UPDATE: The first round of the 2026 U.S. Open was delayed for two hours due to heavy fog at Shinnecock Hills. Play resumed at 9:05 a.m. ET on Thursday, and the tee times at the bottom of this page have been updated to reflect the delay.

Heading into this week’s U.S. Open, Scottie Scheffler is still the best player in the world. He’s easily maintained his No. 1 ranking this season, along with leading the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup standings. But Scheffler has only won once in 2026, and it came in his first start of the season no less. He’s also failed to add to his major haul so far.

Despite those realities, he’s racked up top finish after top finish, including a runner-up behind Rory McIlroy at the Masters. In all, Scheffler has recorded seven top-4 finishes in 12 starts this season.

Now, he eyes a return to the winner’s circle, his fifth major championship win and the first U.S. Open victory of his career this week at Shinnecock Hills. Should he pull it off, he’ll also complete the career Grand Slam.

Scheffler will get his U.S. Open campaign started on Thursday at 8:14 a.m. ET alongside reigning U.S. Amateur winner Mason Howell and defending U.S. Open champion J.J. Spaun.

You can watch Thursday’s first round of the U.S. Open from 6:30 a.m.-5 p.m. ET on USA, then 5-8 p.m. ET on NBCSN. You can also stream the NBCSN coverage via Peacock on Thursday. Featured group coverage can be found via Peacock, USOpen.com and the USGA app.
