After a fog-shortened Saturday, a marathon final day awaits the challengers at the Genesis Scottish Open. It began early Sunday morning, with Robert MacIntyre, Matt Fitzpatrick and Min Woo Lee finishing their third rounds tied atop the leaderboard at The Renaissance Club.

MacIntyre, who won the championship in 2024, fired a bogey-free, five-under 65 in his third round to electrify the crowd in his home country. Lee, who won the tournament in 2021, carded a four-under 66, as did Fitzpatrick.

While those three will start the final round in the lead, they’ll have to hold off a packed leaderboard of challengers to leave Scotland with the trophy. Chris Gotterup, the 2025 champion, is one shot back, as are Tom Kim and Michael Thorbjornsen. Wyndham Clark, Keita Nakajima, Johnny Keefer and Kevin Roy are all two back at 10 under.

Rory McIlroy entered Saturday’s third round tied for the lead, but the six-time major champion faded down the leaderboard with a sloppy third-round 73. He’ll start the final round six shots back of the leaders.

Whoever survives the marathon Sunday will leave Scotland with a $1.575 million winner’s check and a lot of momentum heading into next week’s Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
