If all goes to plan, the Players Championship will crown a winner on Sunday. It just might not be at the time you expected.

The PGA Tour announced on Saturday that the final round of the 2025 Players Championship will be played in threesomes, on split tees and with tee times pushed up a couple of hours on Sunday morning.

Inclement weather is in the forecast for Sunday afternoon, so the tee time switch is to try and get play completed before the harsh weather enters the Jacksonville, Fla., area in the early afternoon. If the tournament is not completed before severe weather hits the area and play is suspended, there is still a chance the tournament can finish later Sunday after a delay. Otherwise, it’s a Monday finish.

Final round tee times are scheduled to start between 8 a.m. and 10:01 a.m. ET on Sunday. The penultimate grouping of Alex Smalley, Corey Conners and Rory McIlroy tee off at 9:50 a.m., and the final threesome of Bud Cauley, Lucas Glover and 54-hole leader J.J. Spaun start their final round at 10:01 a.m.

Spaun leads at 12 under, with Cauley one back at 11 under. Glover and Smalley are both nine under, and three others — including McIlroy — are eight under.
