Spieth was strong from the start at the WM Phoenix Open. He contended up until the back nine on Sunday, eventually finishing T4 at 16 under. It was a promising sign given that it was only Spieth’s second tournament since returning from wrist surgery.

Now Spieth will try to keep the momentum going as he faces off against a stacked field at Torrey Pines.
