The first two rounds of the 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic have been phenomenal, with players showing the ability to score low at Detroit Golf Club. Unfortunately, if you’re a golf fan hoping to tune into the third round, you’ll need to be a little more patient until you can get your golf fix.
As of this writing (12:15 p.m. ET), play at the Rocket Mortgage Classic is still suspended, with the PGA Tour Communications releasing the following on its official X (formerly Twitter) account early this morning.

Since that initial report, the start of the third round has been pushed back an additional two times, with a hopeful start now scheduled for 12:48 p.m. ET.

The PGA Tour Communications’ X account also shared the predicted weather forecast for today’s third round of the Rocket Mortgage Classic — but it doesn’t look too promising until about 4 p.m. EST. So who knows if or when play will actually begin on Saturday.

In preparation of the nasty weather, the PGA Tour did announce that groupings for Round 3 of the Rocket Mortgage Classic would include threesomes, which is meant to help speed up the pace-of-play in hopes of completing the third round on Saturday. But with fan entry also delayed, it’ll be interesting to see if or when the tournament gets off and running today.
According to The Detroit News, if play is postponed at any point during Saturday, fans with Saturday grounds ticket will be allowed to use those tickets for Sunday.

How to watch the Rocket Mortgage Classic on TV Saturday
Golf Channel will broadcast the early coverage, which started at 1 p.m. ET, followed by CBS at 3 p.m. ET. Peacock will offer a simulcast of Golf Channel’s coverage and Paramount+ will stream CBS’ coverage.
