This week on the PGA Tour, golf fans will see a brand-new event in the 2024 Black Desert Championship, and we’re picking a winless pro who has shown positive signs lately as our long shot to win. Here’s our long-shot pick, the Black Desert Championship odds, betting favorites and everything else you need to know.

Black Desert Championship odds: Long-shot bet

For the inaugural Black Desert Championship, the first PGA Tour event in Utah in 60 years, we’re taking Bud Cauley at +5500 odds to win as our long shot.

Cauley is a veteran of the American circuits, having played for over 10 years on the PGA and Korn Ferry tours. His only victory came 10 years ago at the KFT’s 2014 Hotel Fitness Championship.

With limited status, he played in 14 PGA Tour events this season, making eight cuts and collecting two top 25s. But he’s played his best golf recently during the FedEx Fall. At the Procore Championship, he finished T32.

Then last week, Cauley nearly had his breakthrough moment, finishing the Sanderson Farms Championship T5 at 21 under, just two shots short of making the playoff.

If you place a $10 bet on Cauley to win and he comes through, you’ll earn $550. Consider placing additional small bets on Cauley to finish top 10 and top 20 for insurance.

Looking for more long-shot bets for the Black Desert Championship? This week’s honorable mentions are Doug Ghim (+5500) and David Skinns (+8000).

Black Desert Championship odds: The favorites

Many of the betting favorites for the Black Desert Championship played starring roles last week, including the man at the top of the list. Keith Mitchell made bogey on the 72nd hole to miss the playoff at the Sanderson Farms Championship, but he opens this week at +1600 odds.

He’s followed by Seamus Power (+2200) and last week’s runner-up, Beau Hossler (+2800).
