The PGA Tour is back this week for the 2023 World Wide Technology Championship at a Tiger Woods-designed course, El Cardonal at Diamante in Mexico, and we’re picking a fan favorite and former winner as our long shot. Here’s our pick, the World Wide Technology Championship odds, betting favorites and everything else you need to know for the week.

World Wide Technology odds: Long-shot bet

UPDATE: Our long-shot pick for this week, Joel Dahmen, withdrew from the field prior to the start of the tournament.

For the PGA Tour’s first trip to a Woods course, we’re selecting Joel Dahmen (+5500 odds to win) as our long-shot pick.

Dahmen starts the week with odds firmly in the long-shot department, but there is reason to believe he could outperform expectations.

Dahmen, who has five top-10 finishes this season, has kept his game sharp recently in the Fall Series, with solid results. He finished T13 at the Sanderson Farms Championship, then followed it up with a T7 at the Shriners Children’s Open.

Though he bungled a hot start to finish T59 at the Zozo Championship in Japan, he’s had a week off now to rest and refocus for the upcoming challenge in Mexico.

It doesn’t hurt that his one career win came at the 2021 Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship in the Dominican Republic against a similar field makeup.

Should you entrust $10 on Dahmen to secure his second PGA Tour win and he comes through, you’ll earn a tidy $550. Consider additional small bets on Dahmen to finish top 20 and top 10 for insurance.

Looking for more long-shot bets for this week’s World Wide Technology Championship? Our honorable mention long shots are Cameron Champ (+5500) and Chesson Hadley (+6600).

Cameron Young comes in second on the odds-to-win list at +1400, with Sahith Theegala filling the third spot at +1600. Beau Hossler and Lucas Glover are tied for fourth at +2200.

How last week’s long shot fared

Two weeks ago at the Zozo Championship we ran it back by selecting Cameron Champ (+5000) for the second week in a row.

Unfortunately a disappointing final-round 74 dropped him to T59, ending his chances at back-to-back top-20 finishes.
