With the Ryder Cup in the rearview, the PGA Tour Fall Series resumes this week with the 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship, and we’re picking a recent PGA Tour winner as our long shot. Sanderson Farms Championship odds: Long-shot bet
For the first PGA Tour event of October, and one of the last tournaments of the 2022-23 season, we’re eyeing Akshay Bhatia at +5000 as our best long-shot option.
Bhatia had a breakthrough season on the course in 2023, collecting four top-10s. But, most importantly, he captured his first-career PGA Tour win at the Barracuda Championship in July.
At that start, Bhatia cruised past a field that was missing many of the biggest PGA Tours who were playing the Open Championship that week.
Bhatia faces a similar situation this week, with many of the Ryder Cup players sitting out for the Sanderson Farms Championship.
If you bet $10 on Bhatia to win and he comes through with his second PGA Tour win, you’ll take home $500. For additional bets, consider putting small wagers on Bhatia to finish top 10 and top 20.
