The Augusta National Women’s Amateur is set to begin Wednesday at Champions Retreat Golf Club before heading to Augusta National on Friday. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the event.

Augusta National Women’s Amateur preview

The ANWA is back for the fourth time this week as the top ams in the women’s game compete for the crown at Augusta National. And if this year’s tournament is anything like what we’ve seen in the past, it should be an exciting week.

Defending champion Anna Davis is back in the field this week as she looks to become the first woman to go back-to-back in the event. She took the golf world by storm last spring as she put together a stellar final round — complete with her signature bucket hat — to become the second consecutive junior golfer to win the event.

Top-ranked amateur Rose Zhang will also be competing this year as she looks to add to her impressive resume. The Stanford sophomore has finished inside the top 12 the past two playings, including a heart-breaking T3 finish in 2021 that included a triple bogey on the iconic 13th.

The tournament will be played at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Evans, Ga., on Wednesday and Thursday before the field is cut to the top 30 players and ties. Friday will feature a practice round at Augusta National for all competitors inside and outside the cut. And on Saturday, the top 30 will tee it up at Augusta for 18 holes to decide the champion of the prestigious event.
