Previewing U.S. Open Sunday

After high winds and cool temps made an already treacherous course even more difficult on Saturday, a group of star players have crowded the top of the leaderboard with one round to play.

Those stars include young phenoms Will Zalatoris and Matt Fitzpatrick, both of whom have been knocking on the door of major championship glory for years. They’re tied for the lead at four under through 54 holes.

Masters champion and World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler refused to give in on Saturday, sinking a clutch putt at 18 to finish at two under. Four time-major champion Rory McIlroy is one shot behind him with an outside shot to win on Sunday.

Sitting alone in third place is none other than defending U.S. Open champion Jon Rahm, who would have held the lead himself if not for making a double bogey on 18 after he failed to escape a fairway bunker on the first try.

Rahm will tee off in the penultimate pairing on Sunday at 2:34 p.m. ET, shortly before Zalatoris and Fitzpatrick start their rounds at 2:45 p.m. ET.
