Many PGA Tour stars are sitting out this week’s 2022 Butterfield Bermuda Championship, giving less-accomplished pros an opportunity to author their breakthrough moments. Appropriately, two winless Tour pros lead the betting favorites according to the Bermuda Championship betting odds via BetMGM. Here’s what you need to know.

2022 Bermuda Championship odds: This week’s favorites

After a thrilling, star-studded CJ Cup that saw Rory McIlroy defend his title and reclaim the No. 1 ranking, the PGA Tour heads to Bermuda where it’s time for some up-and-comers to shine. Leading the early odds-to-win list is Denny McCarthy at +1600. Despite some solid results so far this season, McCarthy has never won on the PGA Tour, a career fact he shares with the player in second place, Thomas Detry (+2000).

You have to go down to the third spot in odds-to-win to find the first PGA Tour winner in the field, Irishman Seamus Power (+2200). Power won the 2021 Barbasol Championship over J.T. Poston.

Slightly further down on the list is another pro without a PGA Tour win, but one that you shouldn’t overlook for your bets, 27-year-old Aaron Rai (+2500). Despite not having a victory on Tour, Rai has two career DP World Tour wins, making him one of the most accomplished players in the field in Bermuda and, at +2500, well worth a modest bet.

2022 Bermuda Championship odds: Long shot of the week

While there aren’t many current stars teeing it up this week, there is at least one superstar from yesteryear in the field, and he happens to be our pick for long shot of the week: John Daly.

A John Daly movie (!) may be on the way. Here’s what you can expect
By: Nick Piastowski

The two-time major champion and fan favorite is 56 years old and hasn’t won on the PGA Tour since 2004. But since 2016, Daly has been a fixture on the Champions Tour, where he’s performed admirably, with one victory to show for it. In his last start of the Furyk & Friends event, he finished T19.

As a former PGA and Open champion, Daly regularly plays both events, as he did in 2022. Though he missed the cut at both, he nearly made the weekend at the Open at St. Andrews, going 73-74 to finish at three over.

The chances of Daly pulling off a comeback win in Bermuda this week are extremely unlikely, but given his extremely long odds of +75000, a historic win could turn a modest bet into a gamechanger for courageous bettors out there, transforming a $10 wager into $7,500.
