The 2022 Augusta National Women’s Amateur begins Wednesday, March 30, at Champions Retreat Golf Club before heading to iconic Augusta National Golf Club on Friday. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the tournament.
Augusta National Women’s Amateur preview
This week the fabled fairways and greens of Augusta National will host the best amateur women golfers in the game vying for the title in the third-annual edition of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur.
Defending champion Tsubasa Kajitani won’t be in the field having turned pro since her triumph last April, but the top-ranked amateur in the world will be: American Rose Zhang. Zhang had one hand on the trophy last year until some late stumbles dropped her out of the lead. Now she will get a chance to avenge her heartbreaking loss, but 71 top players stand in her way.
The tournament begins with two rounds of stroke play at Champions Retreat Golf Club on Wednesday and Thursday. After that the top 30 players on the leaderboard advance to Saturday’s televised final round at Augusta National, but not before the entire field gets to play a practice round on Friday at Augusta whether or not they make the cut.
While the entire tournament will not be televised live, golf fans will get to watch the final round of the 2022 Augusta National Women’s Amateur on NBC. Fans can also stream the final round simulcast online via ANWA.com and Peacock.
