During Saturday’s third round at the 2021 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines, the pretenders will be exposed, and the contenders elevated as players jockey for position. Here’s what you need to know to watch the third round on TV or stream the action online.

Previewing U.S. Open Round 3

Despite names like Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka, and Bryson DeChambeau taking up most of the ink heading into the 2021 U.S. Open, the two players who share the lead at the halfway point are relatively unknown.

Richard Bland and Russell Henley both reached five under par for the tournament after strong rounds on Friday at Torrey Pines, giving them a narrow lead over a host of proven chasers. Bland, a 48-year-old European Tour veteran who won his first event a few weeks ago, certainly takes the cake as the biggest surprise of the tournament so far.

But the list of challengers is long and accomplished. A focused Louis Oosthuizen and reenergized Matthew Wolff are tied for third at four under. Two-time Masters champ Bubba Watson and World No. 3 Jon Rahm are one further back, and players like Koepka, DeChambeau, Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa are lurking close behind, setting up a potentially historic weekend in California.

The real fun begins on Saturday. Below you will find everything you need to know to watch the third round.
