Previewing Travelers Championship Round 3
Friday’s second round featured some resurgent play from several of the PGA Tour’s biggest stars. Most notable was Jason Day, who fired a sizzling round of 62 (eight under) to lead the field by one shot. Day hasn’t won on Tour since the 2018 Wells Fargo Championship, and is seeking his 13th career victory this week.
Right behind Day is another fan favorite: Bubba Watson. Watson shot a second consecutive round of 66 to reach eight under par overall. He’s hoping to claim his fourth career title at the Travelers, and also the 13th win of his career. Watson and Day will tee off in Saturday afternoon’s final pairing at 2 p.m. ET.
Another player to keep an eye on: Justin Rose, whose second round of 63 launched him from a dangerous place below the cutline into contention. Rose is T4 and trails Day’s lead by three shots.
