Saudi International final round recap
The Saudi International has been in existence for just three years, but it already has a repeat champion. Dustin Johnson — who won the Saudi in his first try in 2019 and finished runner-up in 2020 — claimed victory on Sunday by two strokes for his second win in the event.
Johnson led heading into the final round at Royal Greens Golf and Country Club after shooting 12 under through his first 54 holes. On Sunday, he played as he has repeatedly with a final round lead in the last 12 months: boringly. DJ carded only a single bogey to four birdies during his final round Sunday, cruising to 15 under for the tournament and an easy two-stroke victory. The 2020 Masters Champ and PGA Tour player of the year continued his hot streak into 2021 despite the Saudi serving as only his second start in the new year to date.
Just behind was Tony Finau, who carded yet another top-10 finish but found himself unable to make up significant ground on Johnson Sunday. Justin Rose, who shot a blistering Sunday 65, tied with Finau as runner-up at 13 under.
