When two Australian pros team up on the golf course, the feel-good vibes often lead to good results, and that’s exactly what we’re seeing from Jason Day and Marc Leishman this week. The pair have set off on a mission together at this year’s QBE Shootout, and so far so good.
The Australian duo jumped out to an early lead in Friday’s opening round with a scramble score of 56, and followed it up on Saturday with a 64 in the modified alternate shot format. That leaves them at 24 under, three shots clear of their nearest competitors. Among the three teams tied at 21 under are defending champions Matt Kuchar and Harris English.
Day and Leishman will get their final rounds started at 11 a.m. ET alongside Sam Burns and Billy Horschel, who are also tied for second at 21 under.
