The 2021 Northern Trust begins on Thursday at Liberty National in New Jersey. Here’s what you need to know to watch the first-round action on TV or online.
Previewing Northern Trust Round 1
If you need extra motivation to get excited for the start of the FedEx Cup Playoffs on Thursday, look no further than the top of the rankings heading into the week. Open champion Collin Morikawa leads the way in first position, ready to cap off a breakthrough season with the season-long title. A resurgent Jordan Spieth sits just behind him in second, hungry to back up his comeback win in April at the Valero Texas Open.
But there plenty of other elite pros looking to improve their standing at the Northern Trust. World No.1 Jon Rahm is making his return from a positive Covid-19 test this week. He may be at the top of the OWGR, but he comes in at 5th in the FedEx Cup standings. Bryson DeChambeau sits in 7th, with World No. 2 Dustin Johnson lower at 17th.
By the end of the week, the standings will get shuffled based on how everyone performs at Liberty National, beginning on Thursday.
