Things couldn’t be much closer than they are at the 54-hole mark at The American Express, where 25 (!!!) players sit within five strokes of the lead. Of course, there are much more than bragging rights at stake at PGA West Sunday. Here’s everything you need to know about the tournament’s purse, including payout information and winner’s share.

The American Express final round preview

A chaotic leaderboard begins (fittingly) with a three-way tie for the lead. Max Homa, Si Woo Kim and Tony Finau each enter Sunday’s final round at 15 under, good enough for a one-stroke hold on first. But perhaps more interesting than what has happened for the trio of leaders is what hasn’t. Should any of the three 54-hole leaders follow through with a victory on Sunday, it would mark the end of a winless streak. Homa is winless since the 2019 Wells Fargo, Kim hasn’t claimed victory since the 2017 Players, and Finau hasn’t won since his first PGA Tour victory at the Puerto Rico Open in 2016.

Homa, Kim and Finau will not only have to outlast each other, they’ll also have to outlast a crowded field. Francesco Molinari (-12), Paul Casey and Patrick Cantlay (both -11) are all within striking distance heading into Sunday’s final round. A strong Sunday for Molinari would mark his first top-10 finish since the 2019 Masters.

Further back, Sungjae Im, Gary Woodland and Abe Ancer all face outside shots at top-10 finishes, needing big final round performances to vault into the conversation.

Below is the payout information for The American Express’ $6.7 million purse; you can catch all the action on Golf Channel Sunday beginning a 3:00 p.m. ET.
