Notable groupings for CJ Cup Round 3
After firing a sizzling first-round 66 on Thursday to position himself near the top of the leaderboard, Xander Schauffele kept the pedal to the metal on Friday with an 8-under 64 — highlighted by a 7-under 29 start on the front nine — to launch himself into the tournament lead by three shots. Last week’s European Tour champ, Tyrrell Hatton, is close behind after firing a 68 on Friday, and will join Schauffele in the final grouping alongside Russell Henley at 2:37 p.m. ET on Saturday.
Other notable players in the mix include recent PGA Champion Collin Morikawa (8-under) and five-time European Tour winner Matthew Fitzpatrick (7-under).
