Dustin Johnson held a share of the 54-hole lead for the second straight week at the BMW Championship, but that’s about the only common thread between the last two tournaments.
Johnson, who won last week’s Northern Trust by 11 strokes, entered Sunday at the BMW tied for the lead with Hideki Matsuyama. DJ headed into the final round looking for his second straight win in the opening two weeks of the FedEx Cup playoffs.
But unlike last week’s shootout, in which Johnson (-30) recorded the second-lowest 72-hole score to-par in PGA Tour history, this week’s setup at former U.S. Open host Olympia Fields has proven a true test for the game’s best.
DJ and Matsuyama (both one under) were the only two players in the field with a score at even-par or better through 54 holes. If Johnson is able to hold on, it’ll mark his third win since the restart (and third in the 2020 season overall).
Below is the payout information for the BMW Championship’s $9.5 million purse; you can catch all the action Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. ET on Golf Channel and continuing at 3:00 p.m. ET on NBC.
