The inaugural Zozo Championship, the first-ever fully-sanctioned PGA Tour event in Japan, kicks of this week at Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club. The star attraction at this week’s tournament is an obvious one: Tiger Woods. Woods is not only making his first start since undergoing knee surgery in August, he’s also making his season debut at the Zozo.
Woods participated in the Japan Skins Challenge on Monday, after putting on a hilarious exhibition for Japanese school children. He tees off for the first round at 7:40 p.m. ET Wednesday night (Thursday morning in Japan) alongside Satoshi Kodaira and Tommy Fleetwood.
He’ll be joined by several other star golfers in the small-field event. PGA Tour Player of the Year Rory McIlroy is paired with last week’s CJ Cup champion, Justin Thomas, beginning at 8:40 p.m. ET Wednesday night. Other notable participants include Jordan Spieth, Bubba Watson, Adam Scott, Patrick Reed, Sergio Garcia and more.
