A warm, easy-to-wear look for cold-weather golf that doesn’t sacrifice style

Getting dressed for winter golf can be a doozy. Maybe you look like the Michelin man; maybe by hole three you realize you didn’t bundle up enough. It’s hard to combine clothes that look great and keep you appropriately warm without impeding your swing. To ensure confidence and comfort on the course, I follow a formula I’ve outlined head-to-toe below:

A well-fitted beanie is e-s-s-e-n-t-i-a-l. I find if my head is warm, the rest of my body stays pretty warm too. I love this one from Foray Golf because it has a fold for easy adjustability, and the queen of clubs patch is so cute!

Foray Golf Queen Logo Beanie

$30.00
Her royal highness, the queen of clubs is the perfect mascot to rock the next time you hit the course. This beanie is sure to keep your head warm too.

Next, you need a good base layer. Ideally something thin and tight that won’t move around under your next layer. If it’s really cold, maybe wear two of these! This is the layer that needs to be tucked in and will ideally have some sort of mock or turtle neck, like the style below.

Adidas UPF Three Stripe Micro Mock Longsleeve

$27.97
Stay protected and covered up from the sun’s harmful rays with this UPF shirt. It’s lightweight and flexible so you stay cool and mobile all round long.

I like my next layering item to be slightly oversized, or a little more loose to make sure I can swing away with zero restriction. I love this velour style from RLX for it’s chic, off-duty look and sporty finishes.

RLX Velour Quarter-Zip Golf Pullover

$148.00
A warm, cozy and athletic-looking quarter-zip with relaxed fit and luxe, off-duty feel.

A vest is the ultimate on-course layering piece to keep your core warm. It won’t impede your swing because there are no sleeves to get in the way. If the sun peeks out, it’s easy to stuff in your bag — again, because there are no sleeves to get in the way.

Lululemon Down For It All Vest

$148.00
Down-filled, water resistant and made from four-way stretch fabric, this vest is an easy choice to throw on over anything when the weather’s chilly.

I like a jogger because if it’s cold, you can layer a legging underneath, and they’re an all around comfortable style. The pair below is my absolute favorite for their soft hand-feel and adjustable waistband that you can flip up for a more high-waisted look.

Women’s UA Team Joggers

$60.00
Stretchy, comfy and soft tapered jogger pants that look much nicer than your average sweatpant.

No-show socks are a no-go during the winter months unless you want freezing cold ankles. Snag a pair like the ones below that go up a little bit higher if you’re planning on playing in the wind.

Bombas Golf Quarter Socks

$16.00
Designed specifically with walking golfers in mind, these socks are cushioned in all the right places.

Usually, if you nail the sock piece, you should be good with any comfy shoe, like this sneaker-inspired pair from Nike Golf.

Nike Roshe G

$69.95
Building on the popular Roshe shoes designed for everyday comfort, the Nike Roshe G spikeless golf shoe comes with a lightweight, breathable upper with a flexible cupsole-like design for maximum cushioning. The foam midsole is also flexible and provides support with every step. Underneath, the spikeless outsole is made to be versatile and able to handle wet or dry conditions with ease. Additional features include gussets on the tongue to help keep debris out and pull tabs at the top and back for easy on and off wear. It’s the kind of golf shoe you could (and should) wear all day long if you feel so inclined.
