Calling all golf collectors and history buffs, the perfect holiday gift might exist after all, thanks to a forthcoming collaboration between St. Andrews and … Monopoly?

That’s right, one of the world’s most famous golf courses has partnered up with one of the world’s most famous board games to create limited edition, deluxe “Old Tom” Monopoly sets in honor of Old Tom Morris’ 200th birthday (June 16, 2021). Only 200 sets were made, and a number have already been pre-ordered, so you may have to act quickly in order to land one for yourself.

From Askernish to Prestwick to St. Andrews, the famous game board includes all the important stops along Morris’ design career. The Monopoly fan will be pleased to see that “Boardwalk” and “Park Place” have been changed to “St. Andrews Old Course” and “Royal County Down,” two of GOLF’s top six courses in the world

Yes, you can pass “Go” while playing as the Swilcan Bridge.

The game set is no slouch, and has been dubbed “deluxe” for a reason. The luxury burled wood and gold pieces give it an old, rich feel. The kind of item that sits in the corner of the room all year long, never boxed away in the closet. As a result, it can be purchased for £795.00 — roughly just more than $1,000 — at standrews.com/shop. Just don’t wait forever. Only 200 sets will be produced.

The limited edition Monopoly set is just one of a number of ways the St. Andrews Links Trust plans to celebrate Morris’ birthday throughout the coming months.
