For the 2025 Masters, the odds look eerily similar to 2024, but the situation couldn’t be more different.
The top three golfers in this year’s Masters pre-tournament odds are exactly the same as they were a year ago, with defending champion Scottie Scheffler coming in as the favorite at +450 to win (9-2).
Following Scheffler are Players champion Rory McIlroy (+650) and 2023 Masters winner Jon Rahm.
Scheffler enters the year’s first major as the favorite despite having not won on the PGA Tour since last year’s Tour Championship. Entering the Masters last season, the World No. 1 had already won twice on his way to insane seven-win season plus an Olympic gold medal.
This year is a different story as Scheffler missed a few starts early in the season due to a hand injury and has yet to pick up another win. He does, however, have three top-10s in just six starts, including a T2 his last time out at the Houston Open.
Rory McIlroy, on the other hand, won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and Players Championship, two of the biggest events of the season’s first three months. McIlroy has been a popular pick by many to finally complete the Career Grand Slam and win his first major since 2014.
Scheffler still has the slight edge over McIlroy as the betting favorite, albeit it’s much closer than last year.
