Can you ever have enough places in which to store cold drinks on hot days? Rhetorical question. You cannot! Ergo, the seven or eight cooler bags of various sizes dangling from a hook in my cluttered garage. Not among that collection, though: a stylish cooler knapsack, which is why the Hudson Sutler Nylon Cooler Backpack has my eye. It’s smart, roomy and looks perfect for the course or beach. Fingers crossed one of my foursome of kids comes through this year. If not, I might just have to treat myself. — Alan Bastable

As someone who spends an inordinate amount of time chasing kids to practices and games, I’ve learned the importance of an efficient practice session. Some days, it’s a 30-minute putting session. Instead of mindlessly rolling putts, I typically try to work on one aspect to keep things moving in the right direction. Lately, it’s been alignment and locking in the target. As someone who normally relies on feel and visualization, the dimple-domed marker has helped me see the line and improve my setup and alignment. It’s a reasonably priced practice tool that works. — Jonathan Wall

If you think the person you are buying for is in need of a golf bag — if you aren’t sure, go to the garage and check out its condition — you’d be smart to consider the Ping Hoofer 14. One of the most popular stand bags around, this one comes in six colors and boasts 17 pockets. Who wouldn’t love one of these? — Josh Berhow

Who doesn’t love more speed and distance in golf? As a (almost) 40-year-old golfer, I may think I can perform like I used to, but my body tends to disagree at times. That’s where the Rypstick comes in, with the weighted system helping me develop the necessary feels and sequencing to generate more power. — Nick Dimengo

As someone who has left their rangefinder behind, having an extra external storage bag is a great reminder to pack it up at the end of your round, and this one from Palm Golf Co. is great. Pro tip — put your car keys in the rangefinder pocket so when you leave you are reminded not to forgot said rangefinder. — Ryan Barath

If the person you are buying for doesn’t have a rangefinder, they’d love one. And if they already have one, it never hurts to have a backup. As Ryan (above) explains, golfers lose these — or leave them attached to their golf carts, like I did last month — more than they’d like to admit. — Josh Berhow

Mid-handicappers like myself are notorious for having an inconsistent club path. But instead of reworking my grip and trying a bunch of different ball-striking drills, I’m more interested in just getting instant feedback while I hit balls. The Rukket Sports Pathfinder Impact Mat delivers just that. Finally, hitting flush shots won’t just be accidental. — Nick Dimengo

I’ve been wearing bucket hats since the days when Jim Colbert was the standard bearer for that kind of headwear. Back then, they were far from fashionable. But I was willing to suffer the dorky Colbert look as payment for good sun protection. All these years later, something great has happened. Bucket hats remain as functional as ever, but — get this — they’re also stylish, a hipster hallmark. I’ve already hinted to my kids that this is what I want: a hat that keeps me looking young in more ways than one. — Josh Sens
